YOUTH AGAINST AIDS COALITION (Y.A.A.C.): A group of youth from the communities most affected by poverty, violence, HIV/AIDS, and low academic achievements organized to address health issues.  Guided by Mr. Amador, the youth were able to mobilize close to a hundred other youth with the intentions of making a difference. The youth leaders organized outreach efforts to educate the community at large. Y.A.A.C. Leaders were instrumental in organizing a “Youth in the New Millennium Conference” in the City of Springfield bringing over 300 youth together to discuss youth issues. This was also facilitated bilingually and bicultural.  The Youth Against AIDS Coalition assisted in mentorship and guidance for other community youth regarding education and health issues faced by youth.

‘EL PODER’ (THE POWER): Is a community mobilization program addressing leadership and community mobilization. It is designed to bring together youth and families in the Russian, Hispanic, Vietnamese, and African American communities to address issues of disparities in health, economics, and business development. The program has served five major agencies in the community and over 1,550 individuals.

SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS: Mr. Amador has been a keynote and motivational speaker in the public and private sector for many years. He has been welcomed at school graduations, family reunions, workshops, and conferences. Mr. Amador was invited as an honored guest to speak at the University of Antioquia in Colombia to speak about post-secondary education in the United States, where he addressed over 400 students. He has also spoken in a pre-release program for convicted felons returning to the community about health, access to community resources, and small business development. Keeping to his commitment to youth development, on a few occasions, Mr. Amador has been asked to speak to a Tech Prep program at Springfield Technical Community College for over 1000 students looking to enter into an institution of higher learning.

* One of the good things about all the programs and trainings that were facilitated is that they met students and participants were they were at. Linguistically we accommodated all participants regardless of the language they spoke.
